About the event

String Theory: Smooth tone. Energy. Dynamics. Emotion. Story. Drums accentuating the sensitive interplay between bass and guitar in an accessible yet dynamic style.

Joe Battaglia, Richard Messbauer, and Glenn Davis were craftsmen at telling their stories.

Richard Messbauer attended the Juilliard School, studied jazz extensively with Cecil McBee, Fred Hersch, and Eric Kloss, and freelanced extensively in New York. He also played professionally in symphony halls from Carnegie Hall, the Palau De La Musica, and Teatro Colon to Avery Fisher Hall, Shiller Theater, Bellas Artes, Istana Budaya, and practically every hall on the globe. Today, Richard continues to perform as such, while assembling creative projects and releasing works on his label: Out/In: Space-Music.

Guitarist, composer, and educator Joseph Battaglia studied at William Patterson, Rutgers, and Berklee College of Music. You can hear Joe's work on Flying Saucers, How Deep The Ocean, and of Space and Time, where he collaborated with Glenn Davis and Richard Messbauer.

A native of New Yorker based in Northeastern Pennsylvania, US combat Army Band veteran Daniel Gonzalez stays busy performing and teaching locally and abroad. He endorses Bucks County Drums and Red Cymbals of Australia. As artistic director at Vic's Jazz Loft, he curates the jazz program and serves as the house drummer with select artists.

This Trio recently performed at the Lafayette Bar during Jazz Concert For Ukraine. Again, they will come together to explore original compositions further, and they will interpret the trio sides Rich and Joe recorded with Glenn Davis.
